1) I am going to try at least one new fitness activity every week... even if it is just a new piece of equipment at the gym or some group exercise class.
My sister loves it so I decided to give yoga a try this week. The dreaded push-up shows up in the class too. I think practicing yoga would be very beneficial for strength and balance. Both of which I would like more of so I will try yoga again... the only thing bad about yoga is that it is so early in the morning and I hate waking up early.
2) I am going to workout a minimum of 4 hours each week... even when I work everyday.
Lets see... 1 hour on Friday (treadmill and weights), 2 hours on Saturday (yoga and Zumba), 1 1/2 hours on Tuesday (Zumba and weight training) and 2 hours today (running and Zumba). For a grand total of 5 1/2 hours this week. Not too bad. I need to run more when the weather is nice.

3) I will lose at least 10 pounds.
I barley took off a pound. I can't seem to break that 190 barrier and it's getting a little frustrating. Some people can weigh themselves everyday and be okay with the two or three pound fluctuations... I am not one of those people. If I don't see big numbers it does tend to get me down. My trainer said that I may see a gain in weight when starting weight training so I have decided to start weighing myself only once a month.
And lastly the thing you might not know about me...
I love movies and if I had a lot of money I would buy a movie theater, take out the concession area, put in a coffee shop and open a Cinema coffee shop that plays classic movies, old movies and artsy movies.
I have never tried yoga. I thought it might be too slow paced for my personality, but I should give it a try.
ReplyDeleteGood job on the exercise!!
i would come to your coffee shop almost every day. wendy
ReplyDeleteA movie theater and coffee shop would be cool.
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried yoga before. Sounds cool though.
Great update RCA! I love the idea of a movie theater and coffee shop too. I think that would go over really well.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of the movie theatre :-) I have never been to anything like that! I am also one of those people who cannot get on the scale everyday. It is tooo discouraging!
ReplyDelete@ Lisa ... there are ALL sorts of yoga. Try ashtanga. It's very fluid and dynamic, you are in CONSTANT motion!
ReplyDelete@ Roadcurves I've been at a plateau or setpoint for a month now. I keep gaining and losing the same 3 pounds. I've REALLY bumped up exercise to try to get past it. Make sure to watch your salt intake and to drink plenty of water as well!
Ooh, we need your movie theatre in this town.
ReplyDeleteGreat work on the exercise.
There is a theatre here called "The NEW space theatre" There is a coffee shop/ trattoria/ gelataria down stairs and you can take anything from there into the theatre. They show movies and have a stage for live shows
